Design Challenge

Defining the MVP Scope and Core Features

The initial challenge was determining the essential features that would provide maximum value while keeping the MVP lean. The business needed an online presence that allowed guests to explore accommodations and make bookings.

Input: I conducted stakeholder interviews and competitor research to identify the most critical user needs. Through this process, we prioritised a streamlined booking system and personalised guest recommendations as the foundation for the MVP.

This ensured we delivered a functional yet scalable product within the set timeline.

Creating an Intuitive and Engaging User Experience

With a focus on boutique hospitality, the MVP needed to offer a seamless and visually appealing experience that reflected Harvest Inn’s brand identity. Early user research revealed that customers valued ease of navigation, transparent pricing, and a visually immersive experience.

Input: I developed low-fidelity wireframes to establish the information architecture and tested them with potential users. Based on feedback, I refined the interface, ensuring an effortless browsing experience with clear call-to-actions, high-quality imagery, and a booking process that minimised friction.

Designing Accessibility for Elderly demographic

Research showed more then 75% of bookings were made via desktop, making a desktop-first approach a priority. The challenge was ensuring that complex interactions, such as date selection and payment processing were optimised for elderly people according to accessibility rules.

Input: I made multiple iterations of designs and conducted user testing with corespondent user demographic to evaluate and improve user experience.

Iterating Rapidly Based on User Feedback

Given the fast-paced timeline, iterative testing was essential to refining the MVP before launch. I conducted multiple rounds of usability testing with real users, gathering insights on pain points and areas of improvement.

Input: I continuously iterated designs based on feedback, to be ensured a more user-friendly and conversion-optimized platform.
